Brazil Film Fest is coming to Canada in December/Jan
This year, Brazil Film Fest Toronto and Brazil Film Fest Montreal will join forces to
become Brazil Film Fest Canada. Usually hosted by the prestigious TIFF Bell Lightbox
and Cinéma du Parc respectively, the event is going virtual for its 2020 season from
December 22nd, 2020 to January 19th, 2021. For the first time, we are proudly bringing
the best Brazilian cinema to foreign-film lovers across Canada.
BFF Toronto and BFF Montreal have been a source of Brazilian culture for cinema lovers,
holding sold-out screenings of the best Brazilian productions each year since 2007. This
year, while many Canadians are isolated indoors, we feel it’s more important than ever to
escape with a splash of Brazilian culture during the holidays.
We have chosen seventeen films for our 2020 program, including the introduction of a
Flashback Section featuring our favourites from previous editions. These handpicked films
are the best Brazilian productions of the decade chosen especially to please our filmloving
audience.
Our program includes a variety of genres and narrative styles; touching family stories
such as Loveling, entertaining comedies such as The Dognapper, and documentaries
ranging from biographies such as Cássia, about one of Brazil’s prominent female singers
over the last thirty years, to the gripping realities of Crackland.
Tickets will be available for purchase and all the movies will be available for streaming
from Dec 22 to Jan 19 at jangada-VOD.com.
